Project Selection My Decision

The project I chose was a magazine. The magazine is the best fit for me because of the fundamental aspects of it. I enjoy taking pictures and the magazine is a good opportunity to do so. I am also a pretty decent writer and so are my partners Jack and Will. We would like to do a sport magazine as all of us play different sports. Jack plays soccer, I play rugby, and Will plays baseball. We can have pictures from each of our sports in the magazine. We all agree this is a good fit for our project and are excited to go ahead with it.

Project Selection Film

A film would be in interest to me because of the creative potential of it. You can almost make anything you want within the limits of the technology we have. The process of film making also looks interesting. This is because of all the creative changes that can be made in the three stages of a movie. Like we saw in the Ferris Bueler's Day off documentary, Hughes made the movie three times, in the script, in the shooting, and in the post editing. Some challenges I would come across would be editing as neither me or the people in my group are very good at editing. I would find it enjoyable to act or find actors. In all I don't think a film would be the best thing for me or my group because of the creative mindset it requires.

Project Selection Magazine

A magazine would be a great interest to me. One of the reasons why is the investigative nature of print journalism. This is seen in many of the films we watched such as All the President's Men and the documentaries on the New York Times they have to interview people and get a story and then format it all into text. I also think of things at a logical standpoint. This makes writing down text and formatting a magazine relatively simple. I am also very technological so formatting pictures and organizing text is not a challenge for me. The people on my group also have the same mindset as me and I am comfortable that they would contribute the same. It would also be interesting to learn new software's on the computer and I have a personal laptop that i can bring to and from school. One challenge that I might come across is getting a professional camera to take pictures. I think a magazine would be a great fit for me.
